Balls, Brands and Blockchain
Looking at the intersection of brand needs, sports rightsholders and the blockchain community. In sport, particularly soccer, there have been a number of sponsorships by Crypto companies that have gone sour, and there are fan token / collectable products promoted by teams that have had a terrible reaction from fans. We’re in the post-hype period of testing and learning, so what can we learn from the experiences of brands, rightsholders and the blockchain community to understand where this is going, who’s going to benefit and how.
