UK Advertising heads to SHIAF

The 2023 Shanghai International Advertising Festival (SHIAF) Awards began with an insightful panel, hosted by Becky Zhu from the British Consulate General Shanghai, Department for Business and Trade.

The panel consisted of industry leaders from VCCP, Module, iQIYI, and Crowd; featuring Stephen Woodford, CEO of the Advertising Association and UKAEG, and Julian Douglas, International CEO and Vice-Chairman of VVCP.

Conversations revolved around the significance of global success for growing Chinese brands, delving into the potential for Chinese brands to authentically promote their culture while establishing a strong international presence.

The UK‘s Department for Business and Trade (DBT), and UK Advertising, have been working with Shanghai International Advertising Festival (SHIAF) to encourage the cooperation between Chinese brands and UK advertising agencies to achieve this goal. The panel shed some light on the challenges and opportunities that are presented when undertaking this journey.
